Industry Leaders since 1947
Brown & Moodie is a trusted name and leader in Australia’s building and construction industry, delivering all things pipework and building services to the highest standard since 1947. Operating across the industrial and commercial sectors, our teams partner with clients on projects spanning commercial, health, data centres, defence, retail, and infrastructure.
Headquartered in Padstow, NSW, with additional production facilities in Ingleburn, NSW and Stapylton, QLD, we operate over 10,000 m² of modern fabrication facilities. Our in-house capabilities include design, detailed off-site fabrication, and advanced robotics, allowing us to provide safe and efficient quality solutions for our clients.
With more than 200 employees - from apprentices beginning their careers to emerging leaders and industry veterans with decades of experience - we bring both scale and depth of expertise to the team and project. Our people reflect a diversity of backgrounds, skills and perspectives, united by a commitment of core values and innovation.
At Brown & Moodie, we don’t just deliver projects - we build lasting partnerships with clients, working collaboratively to enhance outcomes and reputations alike.

Built on strong foundations
Brown & Moodie was founded in 1947 in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs by James Brown and Jock Moodie. From those early days in Botany, the business quickly earned a reputation for quality work and a willingness to grow with its clients’ needs.
As the company evolved, the next generation stepped in. James’ son, Roger Brown, brought fresh energy and ambition, expanding into factories, sheet metal, and pipework manufacturing that laid the groundwork for a much larger operation. This determination to improve and grow both the business and it's cultures saw the introduction of new leaders to help steer the business forward with significant development stages - Ross Carswell through the 1970s and 1980s, and later Gregory Becker, who remains part of the leadership team today.
Each of these figures added their own strengths, shaping Brown & Moodie into a business built not just on technical skill, but on vision, partnerships, and long-term commitment. From a small local operation to a company with facilities across NSW and QLD, the spirit of innovation and challenge accepted attitude established in those early years continues to drive us forward.
